Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix boast an impressive arts community. To help you navigate all there is to see, we’ve prepared the following list of select area visual-arts venues. Many galleries and museums operate on a seasonal basis, so call ahead for hours of operation and specific exhibit schedules.

HEARD MUSEUM

Internationally recognized for its vast collection of Native American art, both traditional and contemporary, and cultural artifacts. Opened in 1929, the museum boasts a collection of nearly 40,000 pieces as well as a number of spacious exhibit galleries, an education center, museum shop, and bookstore.

PHOENIX ART MUSEUM

Recently expanded, this venerable museum now boasts a new four-level wing, sculpture garden, and glass-enclosed lobby, but still holds such favorites as the Thorne Miniature Rooms and PhxArtKids children’s gallery. WEST VALLEY ART MUSEUM

Northern Arizona

MUSEUM OF NORTHERN ARIZONA
